The subject was to make an illustration about a Philip K. Dick's book I chose the story called Autofab.

This is the first time that I make this kind stuff. I have always attempted to use the minimum number of polys to reduce the render time the maximum and also to focus on the lighting and textures, we only had a weeks to finish it

I had a lot of fun making it, hope you like!

Una Setmana amb Jordi Grangel

Aquesta setmana he assistit a un curset de modelat que ha donat en Jordi Grangel, un dels que van fer el disseny de personatges per a la pel·lícula de Tim Burton, Corpse Bridge, (La nòvia Cadàver)

Durant aquesta setmana ens ha ensenyat com es dissenya i modelen les figures que després serviran als animadors, modeladors, etc a veure mes clarament com aquest personatge. Les figures es solen fer amb una espècia de plastilina anomenada "SuperSculpy", nosaltres vam fer servir plastilina normal. Primer vam fer l'esquelet amb fil ferro, i després vam intentar treure el volum de la figura a partir d'uns dibuixos des de diferents vistes, frontal, perfil, trasera i 3/4 frontal. Això es el que va sortir:

El Wallace en color i ben fet es el d'en Jordi, l'hi falta un bocí de cinturó perquè el vam tocar massa, era genial!, ... òbviament el que no està tan ben fer es el meu, però a que s'hi pareix ehhh!!

A més a més, va donar una conferencia sobre com es va fer la pel·lícula, només puc dir que va ser IMPRESSIONANT,

La quantitat de dibuixos, personatges (més de 70, i tots animats) i tots amb un munt de variacions, per donar el màxim joc possible, i poder triar l'ideal, ...un exemple es el dibuix de sota, en el que al final van triar la darrera nina, la del vestit mono, i el nen que fa quatre de la fila d'adalt, però canviant-l'hi el cap per el penúltim nen d'aquesta fila...

Les maquetes, el tamany dels escenaris, els mecanismes interns de les titelles, es increïble, com els animadors anaven moguent les titelles una a una, i com un sol segon de pel·lícula podia durar una setmana a acabar-se!!

La pel·lícula esta feta amb Stop-Motion, i tot està fet a ma, no hi ha cap efecte 3D ni semblant... va dir que van estar casi 4 anys per acabar-la, i després de veure la feina que hi ha al darrera, em semblen pocs!
La conferencia va durar més de dues hores, i es ven fer curtes, des de llavors tinc un nus a l'estomac que hem diu amb més força que mai "tu t'has de dedicar a això!!

Enhorabona! i gràcies per aquests dies meravellosos.
Gràcies Jordi i al museu des Baluard per organitzar-ho tot i a LADAT per els seus 20 anys donant classes d'animació a la Universitat de Mallorca
